In Memoriam - Raymond Christopher Waldron
Years back I found out that a friend I grew up with was terminally ill (cancer). We hadn't seen each other in years. In the late 1980's things changed and we parted as friends. I’d known him since I was 10. I felt it was time to talk, so I called him. We threw aside bad feelings and talked about old times. Chris came out to visit one night and I showed him the models I had built. He reminded me that we had joined a mail order model club in the early 1970's. He asked me if I remembered the Viking Ship I had built. Within a year or so after the first night we talked, Chris passed away. I tracked the Viking Ship down on eBay. This model reminds me of both of us at 11 years-old, playing in the stream on a summer day, daydreaming about what it would be like to ride the Viking Ship down the creek...
